English Heritage Unveils Superb Talent
for 2007 Picnic Concerts
Summer just got hotter with the exciting
and diverse line up of star names performing at this year’s
English Heritage Picnic Concerts. Supported by Jacques fruit cider,
the new Belgian cider from Strongbow, the open air concerts deliver
a truly unique and memorable experience to share with family and
friends and this year’s line up is set to be the best yet.
Multi award winning male solo artist Lemar teams
up for the first time with the soul diva Beverley Knight MBE, whilst
the super-talented Jools Holland duets with the legendary Lulu. These
two combinations promise to have audiences up on their feet dancing
and singing until the finale fireworks!
The Last Night of the Proms performances will feature
some extraordinary talent, including singing sensation Katherine
Jenkins at Audley End, Saffron Walden, the fabulous Lesley Garrett
at Battle Abbey, Hastings and rising opera stars Natasha Marsh and
Alfie Boe at Marble Hill, Twickenham. In addition to the traditional
finale firework displays, there will be spectacular choreographed
aerobatic displays from a genuine World War II Spitfire at Battle
Abbey and Audley End.
Fans of the 80's who want a truly memorable and
fun night out should watch out for the new Party Nights, featuring
Belinda Carlisle, Bananarama, Midge Ure, T’Pau, Toyah Willcox,
Limahl and Altered Images, while the upbeat sounds of Motown will
have audiences dancing in the aisles at Audley End and Marble Hill,
as the West End production of ‘Dancing In The Streets’ takes
to the stage. Plus, at Audley End only, performances from the incomparable
Bryan Ferry and the Cuban sensations, the Buena Vista Social Club.
English Heritage pioneered the Picnic Concerts and
has set the standard for exceptional entertainment, hospitality and
stunning locations. All the concerts are set in the idyllic and beautiful
grounds of three of England’s top stately homes - Marble Hill
in Twickenham, Audley End in Saffron Walden, Essex and Battle Abbey
in Hastings. Each evening ends with a superb firework display.
After a priority booking period commencing
on March 12th, tickets for the 2007 Picnic Concerts go on sale
on Monday March 26th. The programme starts on July 7th at Audley
End and the series continues until August 26th. Guests can bring
their own refreshments or purchase a mouth-watering selection of
food and drink including sumptuous picnic hampers to order at each
location.
