FEATURING

Montserrat Caballé, Jools Holland, James Bond, Björn Again, Jubilee Favourites, The Rat Pack!, Michael Ball, The Moscow Radio Symphony Orchestra, Fireworks and Four Seasons and that's just the weather!

The 2002 Music On a Summer Evening season will push out the boundaries of classic outdoor summer evening concerts, to bring to its regular audiences a fantastic choice of entertainment which will also entice new fans to Kenwood House in Hampstead, Marble Hill House Twickenham and Audley End in Essex.

Kenwood's open air lakeside concert season celebrates its 51st anniversary this year. To celebrate the Queen's Golden Jubilee, the opening night on July 6th is an evening of Jubilee favourites, in association with The Radio Times.

During the season 14 year old gifted violinist Chloé makes her Kenwood debut; the renowned Moscow Radio Symphony Orchestra perform their only other UK summer concert outside the Edinburgh Festival: Björn Again bring Abba to Kenwood and at Audley End, Ex Bond Girl, Honor Blackman hosts an evening with James Bond Music; Paco Peña returns by popular demand and the highlight of the Kenwood season is an evening with the Opera star Montserrat Caballé (buy your tickets early), and of course the traditional evenings of Four Seasons & Fireworks and the Last Night of the Kenwood Proms.

Marble Hill House in Twickenham and Audley End House near Saffron Walden, Essex, share some of the same billing, but also feature specially selected events. Exclusive to Marble Hill, where the season opens on August 17th with Michael Ball, who is taking a night out from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, an evening of Jazz Classics, Sing-A-Long-A Sound of Music and 'Last Night' spectacular with fireworks on August 24th.

Audley End in Saffron Walden opens on July 27th with Jools Holland & his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra - who make their English Heritage and Audley End debut, then the season continues with Music for the Royal Fireworks, Björn Again, Jazz Classics and the Last Night of the Audley End Proms.

Brought to you by English Heritage in association with IMG, the 2002 season promises to be an outstanding programme of summer picnic concerts. The programme combines the traditional favourites with exciting, diverse evenings of entertainment.
