A very welcome return for Carl Davis to conduct an outstanding programme of music from some of the best Oscar Winners spanning over 50 years of classic films. If the idea of Music from the Movies appeals, this collection of great pieces, featuring works by Burt Bacharach, Henry Mancini and John Williams amongst others is the one to choose. Accompanied by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, Mary Carewe and Graham Bickley, two of this country's top performers, the programme also features music from the films Dr. Zhivago, Chariots of Fire and Love Story.
